What Abel doesn’t know
Abel was not conceived on a whim, his demonic parents had a plan which required a disciple of their very own. In the grand scheme of things it was a small plot with big ambitions, but it was still their project. So when Abel was snatched right from under them and no amount of supernatural abilities were able to locate him, they were understandably pissed. Still, it was a minor set-back and they moved on.
The man who took Abel also named him. He wordsmithed a name. It was carefully crafted to serve one purpose and one purpose alone; to hinder Abel’s demonic influence, both to hide him and to restrain any nasty inclinations. He altered official documents and created new ones to ensure a smooth transition from one parent to Abel’s new ones.
The Name and The Wordsmith are essentially key to Abel's other side. The story that surround them are the missing parts of his history. Thusfar they just haven't been obviously important because he's never been particularly driven to investigate his past properly.
The Name
Abel’s name was crafted by a very talented wordsmith aiming to dampen any predisposition towards evil deeds while keeping the enchantment itself hidden. This has also unintentionally hindered Abel’s charm, but it’s the level of power he’s grown up with, so he’s never noticed.
Abel
This is more a note for supernatural characters who might pick up on this more. It doesn't matter much either way, however, as the name is all about being subtle about its magic.
